Sierra Club Foundation Joins the Giving Tuesday Global Movement

The Sierra Club Foundation has become an official partner of Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday, which will be held on December 3rd this year, is a movement to channel the generous spirit of the holiday season toward charitable giving. Similar to the trends of shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday brings the world together on one day to give back to nonprofit organizations and the causes they support.

Please visit The Sierra Club Foundation partner page to learn more about how a gift to The Foundation on Giving Tuesday will be used to end reliance on dirty fossil fuels; reverse the social, economic, and environmental damage caused by global climate change; restore, connect, and protect healthy ecosystems so that wildlife and wilderness can thrive; and successfully transition to a clean, green, renewable energy economy that better serves people and nature.

This year, several Sierra Club Chapters from around the US will also be participating in Giving Tuesday to raise funds in support of their charitable programs. To view participating Chapters, visit the Giving Tuesday Partner Page and search for “Sierra Club.” Check out the Chapters’ partner pages to learn about their work to protect and preserve the environment in their communities and to find out how to make a tax-deductible donation in support of your local Chapter.

Please consider kicking off your holiday season shopping with a donation to The Sierra Club Foundation on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd.  Help us spread the word through your social media networks using #GivingTuesday on Twitter and @GivingTuesday on Facebook. Every dollar you give and every post you share will bring us one step closer to achieving our mission of educating, inspiring and empowering humanity to preserve the natural and human environment.
